This New Year offers an opportunity for change and a responsibility to guard against and expose those who would redefine our liberties. We have several Benton County Commissioners willing to promote the revisionist point of view when it comes to The United States Constitution.
I was informed that an attempt will be made to pass a resolution (LAW) stating that when we address the Benton County Commission no one may ever ask a question or speak to any issue of county government beyond that which is on the current agenda. I understand that a time limit is necessary for the peoples’ business to be conducted in a timely and orderly manner. But, what I don’t understand is why this administration is fearful of two minutes worth of accountability.
The current laws of the State of Tennessee do not offer us redress with regard to the office of County Mayor or County Commissioner beyond an election year. That’s right. NO provision exist in law for a recall of either position.
I would like to encourage each of you to attend the January meeting of the County Commission and let our public servants know how you feel about this threat to your liberty. Think of it as the SUPER BOWL Tuesday in Benton County.
Is love of doing your own thing so dear and the feel of your couch so sweet as to be purchased at the price of chains?
